In the process of modernization of Malaysia’s communication infrastructure, Xiangyue’s 45m communication poles have become the preferred solution for local operators to build smart networks by virtue of their technical innovation and excellent performance. As a Chinese manufacturing enterprise that has been plowing into the field of communication poles for many years, our factory has successfully delivered many batches of 45m communication pole projects with its mature technology system and customized service capability, winning high recognition from Malaysian customers with “Chinese standard”, and providing demonstration samples for the cooperation of digital infrastructure in countries along the “Belt and Road”.

Technological breakthroughs to crack the tropical deployment problems

Aiming at Malaysia’s tropical climate with high temperature, high humidity and frequent typhoons, the R&D team of our factory has innovatively launched the “wind-resistant, anti-corrosion and intelligent” three-in-one solution. The core rod adopts Q345 high-strength steel to build a single pipe cone structure, with the diameter of 600mm at the bottom tapering to 200mm at the top, together with the dynamic wall thickness design of 12-20mm, to ensure the structural strength while optimizing the amount of material used. The design has been verified by hydrodynamic simulation, and its spiral deflector groove structure can reduce the wind pressure load by 62% under a class 12 typhoon, successfully withstanding the battle test of 50m/s instantaneous wind speed in a coastal city.

In the anti-corrosion treatment, the factory adopts a double protection system: the surface of the pole body is 550g/m2 hot-dipped galvanized, and the key connecting parts are coated with epoxy zinc-rich primer and polyurethane topcoat. Verified by a third-party testing organization, the process in the salt spray concentration of 3,000mg/m³ marine climate environment, anti-corrosion life of up to 40 years or more, compared with the ordinary treatment process extended by 2.3 times. The technical director of a Malaysian operator commented, “The stability of these communication poles in humid environments far exceeds expectations, and the base station interruption rate has dropped by 78% year-on-year.”

Modularized Design Enables Efficient Deployment

In order to cope with the construction challenges in the complex terrain of Malaysia, the factory innovatively adopts the “pre-assembled modular” production technology. Each 45-meter communication pole is broken down into six standard segments, with flange connections and waterproof seals at the interfaces, and special guide pins to achieve millimeter-level installation accuracy. This design shortens the on-site lifting time to 8 hours/base, which is 60% more efficient than the traditional welded installation, and is especially suitable for rainforests, islands and other areas where mechanical operations are restricted.

In this project, the factory technicians creatively developed the solution of “tower – machine room integration”. The 3-meter section at the bottom of the pole is equipped with an equipment cabin, with pre-installed alignment racks, power distribution units and heat dissipation systems, realizing plug-and-play 5G base station equipment. The design enables the construction cycle of a single station to be compressed from 14 days to 5 days, and the area occupied by the site is reduced by 45%, which successfully helps operators to quickly complete network coverage in dense urban areas.

Intelligent Manufacturing System Guarantees Delivery Quality

The “digitalized full-process control system” established by the factory has become the key to win customers’ trust. Starting from raw material storage, each steel plate has its own identity code generated by the system, and 18 processes such as laser cutting and plate forming are equipped with visual inspection systems, with key parameters uploaded to the cloud database in real time. In a key project in Malaysia, the factory has created a new mode of multinational equipment supervision through VR remote factory inspection system, which allows customers to view the production progress and process details in real time.

Green concept leads sustainable development

The factory actively responds to Malaysia’s environmental protection policy and launches the “Green Communication Pole” product line:

– Adopting basalt fiber composite material to replace 30% of steel, achieving 1.2 tons of weight reduction for a single pole.

– Chrome-free passivation process for surface treatment to meet Class 1 standard for waste water discharge.

– Provide 100% recycling program for retired poles, with 92% resource reuse rate.

Win-Win Cooperation as an Industry Model

Through continuous technological innovation and service upgrading, our 45-meter communication poles have formed a significant brand effect in Malaysia. Up to now, the cumulative reduction of land occupation of the delivered projects has exceeded 150 mu, helping operators to reduce operation and maintenance costs by 41%, and the relevant technical solutions have been incorporated into the draft revision of Malaysia’s communication infrastructure standards. In the future, the factory will continue to deepen local cooperation, help the development of Southeast Asia’s digital economy with China’s smart manufacturing, and write a new chapter of international cooperation.
